Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to AdventureUs.com, LLC, a Connecticut limited liability company ("AdventureUs"). This notice describes the privacy policy of AdventureUs as it relates to the www.adventureus.com website (the “Website”). AdventureUs may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time and any such revisions will be posted here. By visiting the Website, you accept the policies described in this Privacy Policy and your continued use of the Website after such changes have been posted constitutes your acceptance of such changes.

General Collection of Information

The information collected by AdventureUs falls into two categories: (i) information voluntarily supplied by users of the Website; and (ii) tracking information recorded as users navigate through the Website. Some of this information is personally identifiable information, but much of it is not.

Information Supplied by Users

To make use of some features on the Website, such as subscribing to our electronic newsletter, users need to register and provide certain information as part of the registration process. We may ask, for example, for your name, e-mail address, street address and zip code. The information you supply will help us to offer you more personalized features, complete the particular function of the Website you are using, and tailor the Website to your interests to make it more useful to you. Our systems may remember some of this information the next time you log in and use the Website, but you can always review and change your information by returning to the pages where you entered it and changing the information directly.

Cookies

In addition to the information gathered as described above, we use a technology called "cookies" which can be used to provide you with tailored information from a website. A cookie is an element of data that a website can send to your browser, which may then store it on your system. For example, some pages on the Website use cookies so that we can better serve you when you return to the Website. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether to accept it. However, please note that disabling cookies may prevent you from taking advantage of certain features on the Website.

Log Files

Like most websites, we use log files to track system activity. These files include IP addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP) and other technical information relating to your use of the Website. We use this information to analyze usage patterns, observe trends, administer the Website, track user movements in the aggregate and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.

Use of Information

AdventureUs uses any information voluntarily given by our users to enhance their experience on the Website, whether to provide interactive or personalized elements on the Website or to better prepare future content based on the interests of our users.

We may use information that users voluntarily provide in order to send our electronic newsletters and to enable users to participate in surveys, message boards and forums. We will send out newsletters only to those users who subscribe and may occasionally send out special editions to those subscribers when we think they might be particularly interested in something we are doing. AdventureUs never shares newsletter mailing lists with any third parties, including, trip providers, retail partners or advertisers.

We use tracking information to determine which areas of the Website users like and don’t like based on traffic to those areas. We do not track what individual users read, but rather how well each page performs overall. This helps us continue to build a better service for our users. We may track search terms entered in the search function of the Website as one of many measure of what interests our users. However, we do not track which terms a particular users enters.

AdventureUs may create reports on user demographics and traffic patterns and may share such aggregated demographic information with certain of the trip providers, travel agencies, retailers and advertisers with whom we do business. Statistical information about usage of the Website is aggregated and shared for the purposes of preparing and delivering personalized promotions and special offers to users who have requested such information. We will not disclose any information about any individual user except to comply with applicable law or valid legal process or to protect the personal safety of our users or the public.

Third Party Links and Third Party Privacy Policies

AdventureUs provides on the Website hyperlinks to websites operated by third parties to provide users with access to the trip providers or to allow users to “book” travel arrangements and/or purchase trip related products. AdventureUs provides access to these third party websites as a service to its users and is not responsible for their operation or information practices. These websites often gather personally identifiable information and financial information to enable users to complete booking requests or purchases. Our service may include some of your personally identifiable information in the link to such third-party sites. Trip providers, retailers, online booking providers and other third parties with whom we share your personal identifiable information may have their own privacy policies contained in their linked websites, and we strongly encourage you to read those privacy statements. The AdventureUs privacy policy does not apply to these trip providers, online booking tool providers and other third parties and their policies may differ from our policy. AdventureUs disclaims all obligations and/or liability of any kind to you with respect to the privacy policies or practices of its vendors, partners, online booking providers or linked websites.

Children

The Website is not directed toward children under 13 years of age. Consistent with the Federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), we will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without requesting parental consent.

Opt-Out Policy

We give users options wherever necessary and practical, including the ability to opt not to register to receiver our electronic newsletter or to unsubscribe at any time to our newsletter.

Security Policy

All information gathered on the Website is stored within an AdventureUs controlled database accessible only to AdventureUs and its specifically authorized contractors and vendors. However, as effective as any security measure implemented by AdventureUs may be, no security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee the complete security of our database, nor can we guarantee that information you supply won’t be intercepted while being transmitted to us over the Internet. Our security and privacy policies are reviewed periodically and updated as necessary to protect, to the extent reasonably practicable, the privacy of our users.
